Dat gaat meestal goed, maar soms ontstaat er miscommunicatie. Bijvoorbeeld omdat iemand de taal niet goed spreekt of door een verschil in opvoeding, normen en waarden.

“Ik vind het werken met verschillende culturen eigenlijk wel leuk. Je leert gewoon van elkaar. Maar ik zie ook wel dat het voor sommige collega’s toch echt lastig is. Die praten dan gewoon urenlang niet. En dan blijft samenwerking wat oppervlakkig zeg maar...”

Joey neemt je in deze aflevering mee langs verschillende voorbeelden hoe het bij hem op de werkvloer bijna helemaal misging. Die eigenlijk allemaal wel ontstaan door miscommunicatie.

“Hij zei daarvoor ook al van “yes yes”, terwijl hij het eigenlijk niet helemaal begreep. In sommige culturen stel je geen drie keer dezelfde vraag. Dat voelt voor hen dan gewoon als falen.”

Hoe voorkom je dit soort miscommunicatie? “Voordoen!” Iedereen snapt een handeling die je ziet, daar hoef je geen woorden of gebaren bij te gebruiken.
