What does working in logistics entail?
In logistics, you work on everything related to transportation, storage and distribution of goods. There are many different jobs, each with their own duties and responsibilities.
Warehouse employee
As a warehouse worker, you work in a warehouse or distribution center. You check deliveries, collect orders, pack products and prepare them for shipment. You make sure everything is in the right place and the warehouse stays well organized.
Order picker
As an order picker, you put together orders for customers or stores. You walk through the warehouse with a scanner or order list, checking the products and making sure everything is shipped on time. Accuracy and pace are important
Lift or reach truck driver
In this position, you will work with a forklift or reach truck to move goods within the warehouse. You will stack pallets, replenish shelves and help load and unload trucks. Working safely is especially important here.
Transportation planning employee
As a transportation planner, you ensure that all deliveries arrive on time. You plan routes, keep in touch with drivers and solve problems if anything changes. It is a job in which you must be able to organize and communicate well.
