Your wallet: purchasing power and costs

The government has made plans to improve people's purchasing power. Purchasing power means: what you can buy with your salary and allowances.

The government's plans show that most people will gain slightly:

  • Higher tax credits:

This is a reduction in the tax you pay, leaving you with more of your paycheck.

  • Adjustments in the rent allowance and health care allowance:

These allowances increase along with the cost, so you don't have to pay for everything yourself.

  • Lower tax rate in the first bracket:

‍Onpart of your income you will soon pay less tax.

  • Low- and middle-income support:

‍Justthe groups that are less fortunate get some extra support.

  • Additional measures against poverty:

‍Thegovernment wants to prevent low-income people from being unable to make ends meet.

In short, you may notice a small difference in your wallet.

Investing in yourself

In addition to purchasing power, the government is also looking at how people can remain sustainably employable.
