Mental Health Week

June 2 through June 8 is Mental Health Week. This year's theme is "Out of the Knot." It's a theme that says a lot about how we can sometimes feel: twisted in knots by stress, worry or busyness. For you as a temporary worker, this is also a good time to reflect on this.

If you are a temporary worker, it is important that you take good care of yourself. Working through a temp agency offers a lot of variety and flexibility. At the same time, it sometimes requires a little extra from you, such as adapting quickly to a new work environment or learning new tasks. Then it is extra important that you know how to take good care of your mental health.

What does "Out of the Knot" mean?

Sometimes you feel confused. Your head is full. Or you feel like you're stuck. We call that being "in a knot. Mental Health Week wants to help you make space in your head again, step by step. You don't have to do it alone.

Do you recognize this?

Maybe you, too, are in a bit of a bind. If so, pay attention to these signs:

  • You often feel tired or tense.
  • You sleep poorly or fret a lot.
  • You have little appetite for your work
  • You don't really know how to deal with your feelings

What can you do?

Start with a small step
Don't try to solve everything at once. Start with something small like writing down what is bothering you.

Talk to someone
A conversation with a colleague, friend, your client or your contact at the employment agency can already help and relieve a lot.

Move and rest enough
Taking a small walk or a break can already help you feel better. Also try to go to sleep on time and get your rest.

Use the help out there
Follow a training course or coaching. Who knows, maybe you are worried about your finances; then the webinar "Getting Started with Money Problems" is for you. During this webinar you will learn useful tips and tools that you can use to manage your money worries.
