Who is responsible for your safety?
Your client must make sure that all risks have been identified that could be a danger to your safety. Then the client makes sure that all associated safety measures are in place. For example, do dangerous machines have emergency stops? Is the proper protective equipment in place and being used? And is everyone clearly informed of all the rules? These are all kinds of examples of measures that your employer can put in place to ensure that everyone can work safely.
For example, an employer can use the Health and Safety Checklists, which list for each sector what risks are present in the workplace and what measures can be taken. As a temporary worker, you can also go through these. So that you know what is going on in your sector and what to expect in the workplace.

Temporary workers who are properly briefed and initiated are better able to oversee unsafe situations at work. This encourages safe behavior for your colleagues and helps reduce the risk of accidents.
How do you work safely?
Every time you start work at a new workplace, attention must be paid to your safety. The employment agency and your contact person at the workplace will educate you about this. Before you start work, ask yourself these questions:
- Do I know what the risks of my work are?
- Have I received adequate explanation of how to use machines or equipment?
- Do I need personal protective equipment and who do I get it from?
